Family is not just an important element in one's life.
Family is everything. Each family is unique, a construction of culture, love, and passion. Because your family is unique, I work hard to capture that in your portraits. I have spent the past decade as Richmond, Virginia's premier family portrait photographer perfecting just that skill.
Family life is messy and unpredictable, but it is fun and rewarding. My pictures reflect that aspect of family. In that spirit, I do not like "stand-there-and-smile" pictures. I look for the genuine moments, the moments that will make you think back to the portrait session and wonder what had you laughing hysterically, or glaring at your partner or kids!
Something that's important to me in my own family is making sure I capture my children being kids! Children do not stand still and smile, and that's okay! I want to catch your kids running around and playing because kids aren't going to sit still for a portrait and I don't expect them to.
Your family portrait session will be yours and can be as traditional or nontraditional as you like! Either way, it will have you happy you did it.
